Sunday Coronovirus Update; Parkland Numbers and More

PARKLAND, FL- Florida daily cases are lower than they have been in weeks. The percent positive cases also dropped below 10% for the first time in weeks. The percent of positive results ranged from 9.28% to 14.84% over the past 2 weeks and was 9.28% on Saturday, August 1, 2020. This percentage calculated is for people that test positive for the first time and does not include people that had previously tested positive.

Here are the current numbers as of the latest update on Sunday, August 2, 2020:

Florida has 487,132 confirmed cases of COVID-19, an increase of 7,104 in 1 day.

Broward County has 57,975 confirmed cases, an increase of 1,178 in 1 day.

Parkland has 331 confirmed cases, an increase of 4 in 1 day. 

Coral Springs has 2,473 confirmed cases, an increase of 51 in 1 day. 

Deaths in Florida related to COVID-19: 7,206 an increase of 184 in 1 day.

Broward County has 3,346 (5.8%) hospitalizations with 745 (1.3%) deaths due to COVID-19. Deaths increased by 3 in 1 day. The median age is 39.

Broward County Hospital Bed Availability: Hospitals have 919 (16.9%) beds available and 46 (8.7%) adult ICU beds available per the latest data on Friday, July 31, 2020.
